How long will a tyre change take?

If you have booked in for four new tyres, please allow an hour – this includes all tyres fitted and balanced with wheel alignment.

What tyres are best for my car?

There are usually many options available for your car or vehicle, the ‘best’ of which will depend on your needs in terms of distance you travel, what features you’re wanting and your budget. The best way to find this out is to call or email our team and we can discuss the options with you.

How do I know when I need new tyres?

A lot of tyres have in built wear markers that can indicate when your tyres are excessively worn as the tread depth needs to be a minimum depth of 1.5mm to be both safe and legal. Make sure to check your tread in multiple places as the tyre may be wearing unevenly – so tyre tread on one edge may be sufficient but not at another spot.

Why is it important for my tyres to be checked?

Your tyres connect you and your car to the road – so they need to be in the best condition to keep you and those around you safe. Road handling and braking distance rely on your tyres – your brakes stop your wheels, but your tyres stop your whole vehicle. Maintaining your tyres by regularly inspecting for any wear or damage, driving with the correct air pressure and driving within the specifications of your tyres is important to save both money and lives.

Did you know incorrect air pressure in your tyres can actually cause excess fuel usage? If you’re not sure how to check your tyres, or any aspect of your car, we offer a free tyre and safety check available at any time.

Why do I need a wheel alignment?

A wheel alignment is a series of adjustments to ensure your tyres are parallel and meet the road at the proper angle. It adjusts the angles of your vehicle’s wheels to minimise uneven wear on your tyres, to give you a smooth ride and longest tyre life. Your car can go out of alignment after a sudden or sharp impact, through normal wear and tear with your tyres and suspension, or with mechanical work so it is important to regularly check your wheel alignment to give your vehicle the best performance and safety
